CHILD AND ADOLESCENT ISSUES
Evaluation and identifying problem areas among these children are the most important factors of treating child and adolescent issues.
ISSUES INCLUDE:
- Attention deficit disorder (Hyperactivity)
- Dealing with an angry child
- Listening to your child or adolescent
- Signs of substance abuse
- Low academic achievement
PURPOSE OF TREATMENT:
- To create self-esteem
- To improve home and school communication
- To learn responsibility by setting limits
- To practice making independent decisions and healthy choices
- To identify possible obstacles which prevent growth and advancement
- To learn to respect others (boundaries, etc.)
- To develop constructive coping skills
- To motivate teens to establish workable, reasonable goals.
